We're here to help

Find answers below, or let us know what's going on.

I’d like to subscribe to the National Observer.

Great! Just head over to our subscribe page and choose the plan that is right for you. You can use your credit card or PayPal to pay for your subscription.

Need help subscribing? Let us know, and we’ll guide you through it: send us an email, call us at 604-336-1936, or talk to us using the chat on the bottom right of this page.

I bought a subscription but I can’t read more than 3 articles or I get prompted to subscribe or login.

You have to be logged in to get unlimited access to the National Observer. You can find the login button at the top of any page. Simply click it and a pop up will appear where you can enter the email linked to your account and your password. Click 'Log in' and you’re in!

You can also sign in with Facebook or LinkedIn if that’s how you subscribed.

Once you're logged in, you shouldn't need to log out again. If you want to access your subscription from another device, like your mobile phone or tablet, you'll need to log in there too.

I forgot my password.

Don't worry, it happens to everyone. Click on the login button at the top of the site. Under your password field click 'Forgot password' and follow the instructions.

If you were logged in on another device, you’ll need to re-enter your new password on that device to stay logged in.

I click 'Login' or 'Subscribe' and nothing happens.

Some browsers such as Safari and Firefox contain pop-up blockers in their default settings. If you’re using one of these browsers and are not able to open the login or subscribe page, that could be the problem.

You can try logging in using a different browser such as Chrome or you can disable the pop-up blockers in your browser for the National Observer website.

In some cases, anti-tracking software can prevent our subscription system from working properly. If you have trouble logging in and are using anti-tracking software, try temporarily disabling it to see if that helps. In order for our subscription system to function correctly, you'll want to make sure the following domains are not being blocked: tinypass.com, cxense.com, piano.io.

I want to renew my subscription.

You’ll need to log in to renew your subscription. Locate and click on the login button at the top of any page, then add your email and password to the pop-up (or sign in with Facebook or Linked In). Once you're in, go to the subscribe page, and subscribe to the plan you want.

I want to update my credit card information.
  • Go to your account dashboard.
  • Select 'Cards' from the menu bar.
  • Select 'Add card'.
  • Enter your credit card info and postal code.
  • Hit 'Submit'.
  • You're done!
I’ve signed up for the newsletter. Why can’t I access the content?

Signing up to our newsletter is free. In order to have unlimited access to National Observer’s reporting, you need to purchase a subscription.

Without a subscription you can access 3 free articles monthly. You also have access to three Special Reports which are free to everyone:

I’ve signed up for the newsletter but I’m not getting newsletters.

Check your spam folder. Some email spam filters can be pretty aggressive. If you find our newsletter there, mark our emails as 'not spam'. That should do the trick.

Still can’t find our newsletter? Send us a note and we’ll help you figure it out.

I’m logged in and I want to update my password.
  • Go to your account and select 'Profile'.
  • Scroll down to 'Password', select 'Change password', and enter a new password.
  • You’ll need to save the change at the bottom of the page.
I’m a subscriber and I want to post a comment.

You need to be logged in to post comments. Simply locate and click on the login button at the top of any page, then enter your email and password in the pop-up (or sign in with Facebook or LinkedIn).

Once you’re logged in, scroll down to the bottom of any article and select 'Post a comment'. Type something civil (of course) and hit 'Enter' to post your comment.

I don’t want my subscription to auto-renew.

By default, your subscription is set to renew automatically. If you want to turn that feature off, you’ll need to sign in and go to your account.

Locate the green auto-renew toggle toward the right and switch the toggle off.

You will receive a notification three days before your subscription ends. You can re-enable auto renew at that time if you choose.

My subscription lapsed, I’d like to renew it.

You’ll need to log in and go to the subscribe page. From there, you’ll be able to subscribe using any one of the options we have available.

You can also get in touch with us, and we’ll help get your account back up: send us an email, call us at 604-336-1936, or talk to us using the chat on the bottom right of this page.

I want to cancel my subscription.

We’re sorry to hear that. To cancel, please contact us, and we’ll help you cancel your subscription: send us an email, call us at 604-336-1936, or talk to us using the chat on the bottom right of this page.

I want to upgrade my subscription.

If you’d like to upgrade your subscription term to annual or benefactor, you’ll need to log in (if you’re not already) and go to your account.

In your account, select the blue ‘Upgrade’ button on the right, select the upgrade option and hit ‘Submit’.

If you're having trouble upgrading, we'll gladly help you get that done: send us an email, call us at 604-336-1936, or talk to us using the chat on the bottom right of this page.
