Linda Solomon Wood founded Canada’s National Observer (CNO) under the Observer Media Group with a clear mission: to make climate change central to Canada's national conversation. Under her leadership, CNO’s team of climate experts and journalists has highlighted the economic, human rights, and public health impacts of global warming, while advocating for innovation and solutions. Thanks to her vision, the Observer Media Group has earned over 60 awards and accolades for groundbreaking investigations, insightful analysis, and compelling documentary storytelling. Over the past decade, CNO has played a crucial role in raising awareness of the opportunities for a healthier, more sustainable future in Canada, contributing significantly to the global effort against climate change.

Adrienne Tanner

Adrienne has been working as a journalist for more than 25 years, first in Alberta where she covered courts and the environment at small newspapers and civic and provincial politics at the Edmonton Journal. She moved to B.C. in the late 1990s to join The Province as an investigative reporter covering the immigration beat. In 2001, she joined the Vancouver Sun as assignment editor. She then became city editor where she helped transform the newspaper to a digital publication. She served as deputy editor from 2012 until 2017, overseeing the investigative team and political reporters. Most recently, Adrienne has worked as a freelancer, filing frequently for The Globe and Mail, Maclean's Magazine and Pivot Magazine.

David McKie

David McKie is an Ottawa-based, journalist, adjunct journalism professor, data-journalism trainer and author who spent 26 years honing his skills at the CBC where his award-winning work (the CAJ, IRE and Michener) influenced policies in areas such as the adverse reactions of prescription drugs and medical devices, as well as the RCMP’s use of Tasers. David teaches at the schools of journalism at Carleton University, the University of King’s College and Toronto Metropolitan University. He has co-authored three journalism textbooks and two user guides on Canada's access-to-information and privacy laws, respectively.
