I'm a journalist in Ontario, originally from the United Arab Emirates. I'm currently a reporter intern with CBC North in Iqaluit and the newsletter editor at LiisBeth, a women’s entrepreneurship publication in Toronto.

I’ve covered local, national, and international news for various Canadian publications. My work's been featured in CBC North, Windsor Star, Canadian Geographic, Briarpatch magazine, Broadview, LiisBeth magazine, The Pigeon, and several other publications. I've reported on multiple beats—breaking news on university policies, reporting on the environment and initiatives by Indigenous communities, and profiling women entrepreneurs who are trailblazers in their field.

I’m a recipient of the 2021 OCUFA Fellowship in Higher Education Journalism, the Nordic-Canadian Fellowship in Environmental Journalism, and one of six Carleton students awarded the inaugural Summer 2021 Carleton University Student Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Research Awards.

I am also a recipient of the Emerging Reporter Fund through the Carleton University School of Journalism’s Future of Journalism initiative and a reporting bursary through Journalists for Human Rights’ Misinformation Project.

In 2019, I was awarded the Northern Writing Prize by Briarpatch magazine and am also the winner of the 2020 Emerge Media Award in the feature story category.

I’m skilled in photography, videography, audio storytelling, and social media management. I’m proficient in Photoshop and Lightroom, InDesign, Audition, and Premiere Pro. Through specialized courses in data storytelling and investigative journalism, I’m also equipped with knowledge about software such as MySQL, Tableau Public, and Qgis.

I’m a graduate of the School of Journalism at Carleton University, holding a bachelor of journalism (honours) with a minor in history.
