Toby Sanger is the executive director of Canadians for Tax Fairness, an Ottawa-based organization that advocates for fair and progressive tax policies. He previously worked as economist for the Canadian Union of Public Employees, chief economist for the Yukon Government, principal economic advisor to the Ontario Minister of Finance and as a private consulting economist.
Who would really benefit from Kenney’s corporate tax cuts?
Corporate tax cuts would generate few, if any jobs, and result in significant overall job losses from the accompanying cuts to public spending. Much of the windfall gains from the corporate tax cuts would flow to foreign corporate owners.
