Tears, laughter, drama. As the results of Quebec's 2018 election were delivered, emotions ran high across party lines on Oct. 1.

National Observer had a team of four photographers covering all four parties. Josie Desmarais, Andrej Ivanov and Brandon Johnston were in Montreal, and Philippe Ruel was in Québec to capture images as the Coalition Avenir Québec and Québec solidaire made big gains, while the Liberals and the Parti Québécois suffered historic losses.
