About Chris McDermott

Chris McDermott is a professional in climate change policy, finance and implementation. From 1998 to 2006 he was Canada’s lead negotiator on the Kyoto Protocol’s rules for carbon trading. From 2007 to 2015 he managed the carbon trading, renewable energy, and New York State natural gas businesses for Manhattan investment firm, Hartz Capital, Inc.. He is currently a business development advisor to Solar Energy Systems, LLC, New York City’s oldest solar development company. He has an economics degree from McGill University and a master’s degree in international affairs from Carleton University.
