Duane Elverum
Duane Elverum is the executive director and co-founder of CityStudio Vancouver, as well as a designer and educator. He has taught at university for 20 years, first at the UBC School of Architecture where he created the Hornby Island design/build program, and subsequently at SFU’s Centre for Dialogue as an associate and visiting professor. He has also held positions at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design: Assistant Dean for Foundation, Academic Advisor and Assistant Professor in Design.
He runs and cycles in the mountains, travels widely in his van, Minty, and has undertaken six crossings of the North and South Pacific Ocean, including with OceanGybe’s Plastics Research Expedition. He holds a graduate degree with honours in architecture from the University of British Columbia. He is a despairing Optimist.
