Lori Shenher worked as a City of Vancouver police officer for over 24 years. In 1998, she was assigned to investigate the growing number of women who were going missing from the Downtown Eastside. In 2015, she published That Lonely Section of Hell, a book about the botched investigation that almost allowed serial killer Robert Pickton to get away.
