Priya Bhat is a reporter covering food security for Canada’s National Observer thanks to a grant from the Local Journalism Initiative and the Government of Canada.
Priya is a journalism master's student at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. She's from Mangalore, India and has a bachelor of arts degree in journalism, psychology and English literature.
Fluent in Hindi, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada and English, Priya is interested in climate change, environment, sustainability and social justice. When she's not writing, she engages in photography.
